About Cathie Ransom

Cathie Ransom is the founder and owner of Los Willows Private Wedding & Event Estate in Fallbrook, California, a premier garden wedding venue near San Diego. Cathie's family acquired the lakeside property in 1979, and she began developing it as a wedding venue in the 1990s — a decades-long labor of love that continues to evolve today. Her husband Al served as a Marine Colonel for 30 years, and that connection to military service inspired one of Los Willows' most meaningful annual traditions: Vows for Vets, a free wedding hosted each year for a military couple at the estate. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Cathie was a recognized leader in the Southern California wedding industry, developing a mini-wedding package that kept celebrations within California's health guidelines. She has spent more than 30 years assembling an on-site team and preferred vendor network covering coordination, catering, photography, florals, and DJ services.

Meet Brandy & Buffy

Brandy and Buffy have a really ruff life at Los Willows. With over 18 acres to roam around on, you may run into these two on non-wedding days. Brandy’s favorite thing to do is retrieve sticks or, in some cases, branches. Buffy prefers to meet and greet with whoever has a treat.

I wear many hats because that is how it is in this special industry. I have been working in Food & Beverage Service for over thirty years and with that experience I truly know food, from preparation to presentation and I know just about everything you need to know about hosting a successful bar. You will also see me involved with our banquet staff ensuring everything goes according to plan.

If there are compliments that we hear over and over again, they are, “this place is magical.” My family and I can’t take all the credit since our natural surroundings are definitely the cornerstone to this magnificent place. What I can say is we at Los Willows host only one celebration at a time so the entire focus is on you and your special moment, where memories last forever.
